Child Care Concept SAR Camp September 4–7, 2025
Dear parents and caregiver,
Childcare will be available at our camp. Here is some information about what we offer.
WHEN
We offer childcare during the day while the program is running (10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) in the Kids Space so that you can take part in the workshops and events. The Kids Space opens at 10:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. so that the children can settle in with you at the Kids Space. Please bring your children on time so that we can have a handing over and get to know each other a little.
WHERE
The Kids Space is located in the middle of the camp. It will be a well-marked open tent that can be looked into from all sides and is marked on all maps. It is also located near the medical tent, so help is quickly available in case of an emergency.
WHO
The Kids Space is open to all children aged 4 and above. For younger children, please contact the responsible childcare shifts. The childcare shifts are taken over by teams of at least two other camp participants. We do not have professional educators on site, but of course all volunteers enjoy working with children and/or have experience in doing so.
WHAT
Our goal is for all children to feel comfortable with us. Therefore, we only look after children who want to be there. Please inform us of any important requirements and needs your children may have (including allergies or medical concerns, for example) – preferably in advance at the infopoint or at the latest when registering your children at the Kids Space. When you register, we will also take your contact details, the planned pick-up time, and the event you are attending so that we can contact you if necessary. We can be reached at our own phone number during childcare hours. Of course, you are also welcome to stay with your children at the Kids Space. There will be a quieter area and an area for more action-packed games. We also have water and sunscreen on site.
Please let us know if your children are potty trained and if we can accompany them if necessary. Please provide us with fresh diapers for children who are not potty trained and come by to change them if necessary.
LANGUAGE
Unfortunately, childcare cannot be offered in all languages. We have children’s books in German and English, but please let us know which language(s) your children speak. Many activities and games do not require any language skills at all.
